I was born in 1945

The other big event of that year was the end of World War II. Which makes me well over 70 and kind of disqualifies me from reading "Things to do now that you're 60" but op-shoppers can't be choosers and that's the only book they had.

This little book is full of advice, some good, some not so good. Take, for example, this one: "Don't let age deter you from going anywhere. The Danish explorer Vitus Bering was sixty when he embarked upon his last great voyage."

I've just checked with Wikipedia which tells me, "On 8 December 1741 Vitus Bering died, aged 60, on an uninhabited island near Kamchatka Peninsula, which was later given the name Bering Island in his honour."

So much for things to do now that you're 60.
